First Holy Communion & First Reconciliation

Welcome to Sacramental Preparation at St. Agnes Parish.  We are very excited for all of the children and their families as you continue your journey to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation & First Holy Communion.

Since churches aren’t scheduled to be opened until after the school year has ended….

As of May 25th First Communions have been postponed until Fall 2021.

2021-2022 First Communion

Parents of all children who wish to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion or First Reconciliation are to register on line during September for the coming year.  At all other times please contact the parish office 519.885.4480

After November 1st registration closes and all students interested in First Communion  will need to call the office to make an appointment directly with Father Aleks.

Enrollment Mass–  December 6, 2020 (11 am Mass)

  • While all are welcome to attend Mass in person for Enrollment it is encouraged to participate virtually.
  • The Mass will be on the Facebook live link seen both below and on the home page. A Facebook account and/or password is not needed. Please attend another Mass via this link previous to the Enrollment Mass so any issues can be addressed.

Paperwork

  • Email a copy of your child’s baptism certificate to the sacramental email. stagnessacramental@gmail.com
  • Your family must be registered at a parish in order to receive a sacrament. Please call your home parish to confirm if you are unsure you are registered.
  • If you are a member of a different parish, your child wants to participate with their class and you are a member of a different parish, please contact your parish for a letter of acknowledgement from your priest that your child will be participating with their class at St Agnes. Your home parish can fax it directly St Agnes parish.

St. Matthew School                        Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2 pm

St. Agnes School                               Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 1 pm & 3 pm   

St. Luke School                                  Sunday,  June 13, 2021 at 2 pm

While there was no rehearsal, I ask that your family please follow the guidance of the ushers when you enter the Church.  They will direct families to a pew.

During the Mass, please do not worry about the procedure.  It will be simple and guided by Father Aleks, and the Sacramental preparation team.  It will be explained on how to properly and reverently receive Holy Communion, safely.

Resources

Sacramental preparation is the responsibility of the parish and parents. Any support teachers give is very much appreciated and a gift to the children.
