Louise Mikol (nee Seifried)
Jan. 2, 1933 – Sept. 21, 2026
With gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Louise Mikol announces her passing. Louise is survived by her husband of 73 years, Robert; daughters Barb (Randy) and Brenda (Mark); grandchildren, Devin and Lauren-Kiara (Dylan) Kufske, Jocelyn (Mike) and Jared (Julia) Lubczuk; great grandson Thomas Lubczuk; siblings, Sister Gloria Seifried SSND and Neil Seifried. Louise was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Luella Seifried and sister, Rita Francois. She was dearly loved by many nieces and nephews.
Louise will be remembered as a woman who took great pride in her family. After years of working as a secretary in an insurance office, she chose to leave her job and focus her time on raising Barb and Brenda. She created a warm and loving home for the family. She was an amazing cook, astute budgeter and kept a well organized and tidy home. After her daughters had grown and become self sufficient, Louise returned to the workforce, working at the used bookstore at the University of Waterloo. She loved the opportunity to use her many skills and connect with others, especially the students.
Louise loved spending time with her grandchildren, treating them with delicious desserts and cheering them on in their various activities. Through the years, Louise and Bob loved to travel, with Vegas being their favorite destination. They enjoyed the lights, shows, excitement and perhaps a little time at the casinos. There may have been a few lucky and not-so-lucky wins along the way.
Louise had a strong faith and was a long-time and active member of the Catholic Women’s League at St. Agnes Church. Although the last few years were difficult for her, she continued to live with faith, courage and determination. She demonstrated the same strength of spirit that carried her throughout her life.
Louise was blessed to have Bob at her side. His love and devotion never wavered. He cared for Louise with such tenderness and patience, always doing everything he could to honour the vows they made many years ago. Their children and grandchildren will remember their love and commitment always. We are so grateful for the gifts of Louise’s love, care and guidance in our lives and she will always hold a place in our hearts.
Louise’s family will receive relatives and friends from 1-4 PM on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Monday, September 28, 2026 at 10:30 AM. Reception to follow.
