Our Deacon

Rev. Mr. (Deacon) Ed MacIntosh

Deacon Ed was born in a small town in Nova Scotia and grew up as the middle child in his family of five (5) children … all boys.

From an early age his interest in working with and for the Church was evident, both through his involvement as the first “Head Altar Server” at his Parish and his dedication to Youth Ministry at the Parish and Diocesan levels.

Deacon Ed is a member of the first group of Deacons to be “formed” in the Diocese of Hamilton. He was ordained along with three (3) other Deacons by Bishop Douglas Crosby at the Cathedral of Christ the King in June 2016.

He is very active in his diaconal ministry at the Parish, and as the “Faithful Friar” to the Knights of Columbus for Kitchener/Waterloo’s Fourth Degree. He also assists at the St. Louis – Out of the Cold Community Supper program; cooking and/or serving meals to those facing food insecurity.

We are blessed to have Deacon Ed, Debbie (Administrative Assistant and Choir Director and Organist for our Saturday 5pm and Sunday 11am Holy Masses) and their children (Charlie and Alice) as members of St. Agnes Parish.
