Thursday Holy Hour

Every Thursday, our parish offers Holy Hour from 6-7 pm, followed by Holy Mass. The first Thursday of every month is specially dedicated to Prayers for Life. These prayers are for the greater respect for human life, from conception to the natural end of one’s life, which is under attack in today’s society.

Holy Hour is a time of Eucharistic Exposition. During Holy Hour the Blessed Sacrament is exposed in the monstrance for adoration.

The period of adoration consists of song, prayer, and silence to help direct the attention of the faithful to the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the monstrance.

At the conclusion of Holy Hour, Benediction takes place. This is a concluding blessing rite and includes an appropriate hymn, incensation of the Blessed Sacrament, a closing prayer, and Eucharistic Blessing.

For those who participate in a Holy Hour, a plenary indulgence is gained as long as it is accompanied by Sacramental Confession, Holy Communion, and Prayer for the intention of the Holy Father.

It is important to participate in Eucharistic Adoration because worship of God is owed to Him, you can deepen your friendship with Jesus, and you can receive the graces necessary to become more perfectly conformed to the image of God.
